La Guinguette de Belle Isle sur Chateauroux

Late August 2026: Passing through Châteauroux for one night, we walked around the lake and stopped for a drink at the Guinguette. We ordered two drinks and a sugar waffle. My wife was more than disappointed with the waffle, which was definitely frozen because it was still cold inside ☹️ (she should have sent it back, but she didn't want to make a fuss 🫤). Furthermore, two minutes after being served, my wife, who was eating, was interrupted by the waitress who asked us to pay the bill immediately 🤨 (She was perhaps afraid we'd leave without paying 🧐). Given these circumstances, we had planned to have dinner there that evening but changed our minds 🤔. It's a shame to be located in such an idyllic setting near a lake and stream and that the brand doesn't live up to expectations 👎.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful discovery ❤️ We had never eaten at your restaurant before, and what a wonderful discovery it was! An excellent restaurant, both for the quality of the food and the warm welcome. A big thank you to the entire team, the waiters and waitresses, for their kindness, their smiles, their attentiveness, and all their thoughtful touches. 🥰 My parents had the pleasure of celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary at your restaurant, and they were truly delighted with the occasion. Being restaurateurs themselves, they particularly enjoyed the meal from beginning to end. They absolutely loved it! I had also requested a nice table on the terrace, ideally with a beautiful view of the lake, and you perfectly fulfilled my request. We had a lovely table with a magnificent view of the lake, which made the occasion even more enjoyable. 🌅❤️ I had asked for a small candle to mark their wedding anniversary. Since my mom didn't end up having dessert, you were still kind enough to put a candle on a small dollop of whipped cream. ❤️ It was such a simple gesture, but it touched us deeply and made the moment even more special. Thank you again to the whole team for your warm welcome, your kindness, and this lovely experience. We will definitely be back! 🥰❤️

We went there for lunch during our vacation. We received excellent service, although the wait was a little long, but it was very busy. The place is really nice, and the staff were friendly and energetic. Thank you, we'll be back.

If you're passing through Châteauroux, here's a great tip: the guinguette is very well located with a view of the lake, and the staff is very professional. The dishes offered are always generous and delicious. The prices are reasonable.

Excellent open-air restaurant! We went there with about twenty people for a graduation meal, and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly, the service was top-notch 😊, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it.
