We drove all day and made it to Strasbourg late and got a table at La hache around 10pm (open late fyi). We all ordered the same thing, Suprême de volaille, légumes du moment, sauce thym citron & olives Kalamata which is the chicken dish in a yellow sauce with veggies and mashed potatoes. It was so nourishing and delicious and comforting. It was also so lovely to know that my friends were experiencing the same culinary joy I was. I was so exhausted from traveling and la hache brought me back to life. Looks like it’s a good spot for wine but nothing does it for me quite like beer so I drank a nice perle pilsner. I Wish I could eat here again, the menu has so many delicious looking things, alas we were just passing through.

Craving steak tartare? This is a great place. Reservations recommended. The dining room is a bit noisy, but the service/waiters/waitresses are very friendly.

Always a pleasure to have lunch here. The menu is enticing, the dishes we chose were delicious, and the service was impeccable. Perhaps a minor criticism of the chocolate mousse, which was a little lacking in chocolate flavor.

We ate here several times over a period of months. Unfortunately, the preparation is always slightly different, and so is the taste. We enjoy coming here, but it would be nice if the food tasted consistently good.

23/07/2026: They offer vegan options for food as well as an oat milk for any of the coffees. Also generally a very nice atmosphere and setting. Bonus points for having Club Mate 😊
