The best food all week ! A simple menu , very well executed. A good place a cold , a great place if warm. We only discovered on our last day , we will be back next year.

Warm reception despite wee mix-up over reservation - cosy corner table in charming alpine decor. Service and meals very good. Interesting menu - omelettes seem very popular - definitely decent portions! Our hostess patiently explained my choice, “Soupe Châtrée”, not soup but a mix of local Tomme cheese with onions - I was sold on it being a Morillon specialty! All served with a proper salad rather than just the odd slice of tomato. Besides we’re having raclette chez nous ce soir. May have to go back to try the veal or steak. Unfazed by one of our party’s allergy to all things green (!) This isn’t haute cuisine, á la Paris, or (the lamented) La Gavroche, but seems a very good presentation of Savoien food. Or maybe I’m just easily pleased… Frankly, absence of piles of chips very welcome! Not really a value option, frankly. Definitely need to book - very popular. Restaurant also has oriel window table with view over Dahu piste, with floor to ceiling windows - no doubt a popular option. Large terrace but serve just H/C drinks and charcuterie outside, not full menu. We’d tried to get in day before on spec but no joy (yup, need to book…) so to end up instead in self-service joint in Samoens 1600 - which cost just as much - a huge disappointment. La Luge delivered today - many thanks! Probs now our fave lunch venue in Grand Massif and there’s some good competition!
