A loyal customer for several years, I have always appreciated the quality of the products offered by this restaurant. The meat and cheese are excellent. However, I was disappointed in some aspects during my last visit. The cooking of the rice clearly left something to be desired (dry and crispy), the salad sauce was far too vinegary and the quantity of cheese fondue for two people seemed insufficient to me. Furthermore, the restaurant is often crowded, which testifies to its success, but the tables are so close to each other that it becomes difficult to enjoy an intimate moment. Particularly during dessert, we were disturbed by the persistent smells of cheese fondues from neighboring tables, which spoiled the experience a little. In summary, this restaurant remains an essential address for the quality of its products and impeccable service. However, certain details related to the cuisine and customer comfort deserve to be reviewed to offer an experience that lives up to their reputation.

Overall it was not bad but the morel fondue lacked flavor we didn't smell the morels they had no taste too bad

As always, it's a treat to come here to share a good Fondue. The place is pretty, the servers friendly and the service top notch. Little advice, book!! And be careful, they don't take credit cards! Bring checks or cash. I recommend the Provençal Fondue, a delight!! My favorite!

Everything very good, we tasted two different fondues which were very good. Ideal location in the city center. The atmosphere of the place is very pleasant.

The service was perfect: the servers were friendly and welcoming, the fondue was delicious and the accompaniments were well stocked. I highly recommend this address (but remember to book online because it’s always full 😉) Thanks to the restaurant teams!

I've known this restaurant for at least 20 years and it's still just as good. The fades are very good. Very friendly staff. Small negative point, I went there twice this year the first time the skewers were of very good quality but a little less the second time. There is a wide range of fondues, something for everyone. My favorite one with truffle 😍 accompanied by a skewer and potatoes I advise you to book at the back of the room because at the entrance it gets a little cold when customers who lack civility leave the door open while they find out if there is room! In all, this restaurant has nothing left to prove... come and eat with your eyes closed

un délice, comme à chaque fois, que ce soit avec la fondue savoyarde (celle à la truffe es incroyable ! ) ou les fondues bourguignonnes 😋 nous avons déjà hâte d'y retourner !

Repas en famille en semaine Beaucoup de choix dans les fondues (normal certes mais des recettes assez originales). Bon accueil Pas de carte bleu par contre... un peu moyen en 2024

Brasserie de la Mairie

20/09/2024: My wife, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter spent two in the south of France, one in aix-en-Provence and the second in Saint-Raphael. While in Aix-en-Provence, we stopped for a wonderful lunch at le Brasserie de la Mairie in the central, older part of town. The majority of this restaurant’s seating is outdoor in a cobblestone town square under parasols. It makes for a quintessential Provence setting, quaint, relaxed, with excellent food and wine. This restaurant has a wide-ranging menu of both food and drink, extending from croque monsieur to hamburgers to entrecote maitre d’hotel, from fine French wine to local beer. We started with drinks, including some local beer and two Aperol spritz, which is made from equal parts of Aperol and Prosecco with a splash of club soda. The drink is Italian, having been created in Venice around 1920 according to urban legend. Aperol spritz is a wonderful, summery drink and was perfect for lunch. Our lunch orders included Italian-style steak tartar, two Salade Nicoises and a Salade nordique, the latter being my selection. The steak tartar was excellent and was served with fries and a small greensalad. The Salad Nicoise contained tuna, anchovies, sliced hard-boiled egg, peppers, green beans, small potatoes, olives and a wonderful dressing. My Salade nordique included a very generous portion of smoked salmon, avocado, hard-boiled egg, peppers, potatoes and a Caesar salad dressing. The Salade nordique was excellent with the amount of smoked salmon included was enough for two people. The service at the Brasserie de la Mairie was excellent, the food was served in a reasonable time and the setting, as mentioned was wonderful. This is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner if you’re lucky enough to ever visit this gorgeous area of France.
