I ate at this cafeteria several times a week between September and April last year. It was not catastrophic, but we are clearly not at the level of a university restaurant (logically, it is not one).
I have always had meals with the so-called "classic" formula which allows you to eat for €1 for scholarship holders, €3.30 otherwise (perhaps the situation will change, that would be good).
The classic formula is a meal in a tray to be reheated, often leftovers from the day before at the Métare university restaurant but sometimes the equivalent of a plate of the meal served "at the buffet", made the same day in the cafeteria (well, I think), or a sandwich (bread or several triangles), with two desserts. Eligible desserts are Danette or Liégeois type yogurts and you definitely have to take two. Mondays are often leftovers from the previous Friday at La Métare, I find that it tends to be less good. The rest of the time I don't find it disturbing because in the university restaurant, we eat well. There is no bread included in this formula. And the portions are quite small, personally they suit me but I know that's not the case for everyone.
I cannot comment on the other menus offered, I have never tried them.
This year I sometimes had to queue (between 12:20 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. in particular) but it remained reasonable, but next year it is planned that part of the Faculty of Science and Technology will move here which will probably create a long wait to go eat. We'll see what happens in September.
I find that the dining room is quite pleasant and bright, there are toilets and microwaves. However, food from outside is not accepted.
It is possible (perhaps like in all CROUS cafeterias in Lyon) to have two meals in the same day or even at the same time.
The staff is also very friendly and smiling.
