La Marina sur Cherbourg-Octeville

Mussels and fries with a magnificent view of Cherbourg harbor. Delicious and a very pleasant, intimate atmosphere. 🙂

I came with my partner and parents. The starters (Around the Salmon) were as delicious as they were visually stunning, like a true work of art. For my main course, I ordered sea bream (substituted for whiting this time) with baby vegetables. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the vegetables had a slight crunch, creating a beautiful contrast (in addition to being truly delicious). The cheese plate was also very good, although some of the cheeses were still a little firm, but that's just a matter of taste. Finally, the gourmet coffee was more than satisfactory. Now, let's talk about the service. The staff was top-notch from start to finish, and they even joked back at our teasing. A truly wonderful discovery; I'll definitely be keeping this address in mind for future visits.

After being harassed by other nearby restaurants for daring to ask for shelter from the wind, we stumbled upon this quiet, welcoming restaurant, with friendly service and fair wine prices. We ate upstairs, with a lovely view of the harbor, and the fish and chips were original and well-prepared.

I ate there for lunch today, and it wasn't my first time. I'm never disappointed by the food. The service was a bit lacking in experience, but the staff were very pleasant. A young woman who clearly wanted to do a good job. And the mussels were the best I've had since the start of the season. The setting was nice, and the restaurant was clean.

Sometimes things just work out for the best! I stopped by without checking the reviews and I don't regret it at all because it would have been a shame not to try these delicious dishes! The main course was excellent, and the dessert too; it's truly "homemade."

We came in for a very pleasant surprise this lunchtime. The lady who greeted us was smiling and extremely kind. The restaurant was clean and quiet, with soft music that made you want to relax. As for the meal, it was delicious! Succulent! It delighted our taste buds with every bite! The chef shouldn't change a thing; it's a real treat. The value for money is excellent, with a three-course meal for €28.90 that was so good! I recommend it 100%! Thank you very much.

We were there as a couple in October 2025. We received a very warm welcome. The food was exquisite. The service was impeccable; the waitstaff were very attentive and elegant.

A warm welcome, impeccable service, smiling and very pleasant waiters and waitresses, and the food was flawless from start to finish – everything was perfect. Add to that the view of the harbor, and we had a truly delightful time.
