06/08/2026: Excellent restaurant, top-notch owner, very pleasant family atmosphere, the short and very well-executed menu allowed us to discover new flavors!

06/08/2026: A small restaurant near the harbor – but with a rather big story behind it. The owner, in his late 30s, spent ten months cycling along the borders of France. He apparently not only racked up some serious mileage, but also a wealth of culinary inspiration. His journey resulted in 50 recipes for his own cookbook. It was clear then that this wasn't just any old place. We started with a delicious gazpacho, followed by truly excellent main courses. So good, in fact, that suddenly our neighbors' plates became quite interesting. Luckily, we all agreed that sharing wasn't stealing in this case. Anyone visiting Cherbourg should definitely check out this small, intimate restaurant in addition to the classic seafood restaurants. A fascinating story, a friendly host, and food that piques your curiosity. Highly recommended!

19/08/2026: We came for dinner with our vegetarian children and chose the Janne menu with wine pairings. The chef brilliantly rose to the challenge of creating two vegetarian and two classic versions of the Janne menu for our table, all while preserving the harmony and spirit of the original menu. Once again, it was a true sensory journey. First, the eyes are filled with wonder, then the aromas awaken the senses, before the flavors elevate the palate… to pure ecstasy. Thank you to the entire Pily team for this wonderful experience, for your creativity, your delicacy, and your incredible ability to surprise us with every bite. An experience that is always refined, generous, and exceptional!

11/05/2026: Big disappointment: a bad experience this year with the Iodine Cure salad. The mini ceviche was tasteless and bland, the two oysters served were clearly not fresh, and the salad (mainly mixed greens with smoked salmon) was dressed with some kind of mayonnaise. Frankly, not great, and on top of that, a bit stingy with the portion. In short, we won't be back.

06/05/2026: Having tried it on the recommendation of the Tourist Office, we were definitely not disappointed. The dish of the day was delicious and beautifully presented. Special mention for the gourmet coffee – a real treat!

09/08/2026: We came to Cherbourg for a holiday and to explore the area, but I was a bit disappointed with the service, which I found completely unprofessional. The waitresses were clearly drinking right next to us. I ordered a glass of dry white wine, and they served me a semi-dry one. When I told them I knew a lot about wine, they even had the nerve to tell me they didn't know why they'd given it to me because it was "disgusting." A bit disappointed, I won't be back.

04/08/2026: The dishes were quite good (squid for one and lamb shank for the other), but be aware that there are optional side vegetables (rice/potatoes) which are extra. It's true that they're listed on the menu, but the waiter didn't mention that they cost extra, which is rather unusual. Hence the 4 stars and no more.

28/06/2026: Everything was perfect! The ravioli was delicious. The tuna was cooked to perfection, just seared. The sweetbreads were excellent. The service was equally impressive; the staff were very friendly and efficient. Try La Satrouille, you won't regret it.

03/08/2026: We ordered two pizzas for delivery. The delivery time was perfect; we requested 7:30 PM and the driver arrived on time. The first pizza was great, but the second, a calzone, was overcooked and underfilled compared to usual.

11/06/2026: This place is an absolute hidden gem. A simple fast food eatery with a huge and amazing selection of sandwiches, burgers and more at unbelievably low prices. All that and massive portions as well. You gotta come here.
