A wonderful discovery: the medieval Bar le Duc, a bourgeois house transformed into a restaurant with a view of the city. Not many tables, so a personalized welcome, efficient service, and refined cuisine. All at reasonable prices. Don't hesitate to try it.

I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy an excellent, gourmet meal (starter/main course/dessert). The welcome and service are also top-notch, and the quality/price ratio makes it a real treat.

Google is asking me, but I can't tell 😉 The place looks nice, the menu is a bit expensive, and not everything appealed to me. But it's impossible to make a reservation; they don't answer outside of business hours, but they call back if you leave a message. No more room... Not for tonight, nor for the next... That'll be another time.

11/03/2026: Third visit to L’Escapade Gourmande after trying two menus, including the most recent one. It's simply exquisite. The meats are expertly prepared, as are the sauces, vegetables, and seasoning. The dishes are varied and complete, with a three-course menu (starter, main, cheese, and dessert) offered at an unbeatable price in Bar-le-Duc. The restaurant is very clean and well-located. While its size might initially seem intimidating in terms of noise and atmosphere, once inside, you'll find yourself in a calm and welcoming place. The clientele reflects the restaurant's character: welcoming. As for the staff, we appreciated the service and the overall friendliness. You feel right at home and comfortable, with, of course, the proper etiquette and courtesy.
