Arrived at the establishment with a beautiful sunset, followed by a warm welcome, an original gourmet menu, and a restaurant open all year round – important for the area.
Thank you again, Mr. Boulogne.
Well, they were off to a bad start. Restaurants that aren't dog-friendly are rare in France. But I'd spent the day hiking with my dogs (where I was welcomed everywhere) and I didn't have the energy to look elsewhere. I waited several minutes before being greeted, but for the rest of the evening, the service was perfect and attentive. I ordered the marinated scallops with creamy risotto; I was craving a comforting dish... And for €27, I got a small risotto swimming in 500g of salad and a few (good) scallops scattered on top! What a disappointment! I was expecting to mop up the sauce with bread, but instead I received a cold, very crispy salad! The beach is nearby, admittedly, but still, it's a shame... The tarte tatin was delicious, it's a pity about the imperceptible hot/cold contrast and the lack of crispness, but the taste of the tart and the whipped cream were definitely there. So I left feeling a little disappointed with this meal costing over €40 (including a glass of wine).
Good restaurant, very friendly owner, the dishes are well cooked. The only slight downside was that the main course was served lukewarm, which I asked to be reheated, but perhaps that was just a fluke. I'll be back.
A very friendly and warm welcome. The menu was limited (end of season) but very well executed. An extra point for the selection of local craft beers.
We'll be back.
