La Peche a la Truite sur La Salle-Les-Alpes

I never tire of it; I go back every year and it's always just as pleasant and good.

It absolutely magical. Essentially a forest glade with a lake by the river. You try and catch a trout. Either way you get trout to eat, with salad and potatoes. Wine comes in clay jugs. They spent ages trying to help my daughter catch a fish. I'm English, I speak very little french. Everyone was happy. It's cash only. That's all you need to know.

Good experience. We came at the end of August with a reservation for 11:45 am, fishing the rapids, and with the low number of visitors, we were served quite quickly. The setting is pleasant, there's plenty to keep children entertained (rabbit enclosure, swings, etc.), and the trout are quickly stunned by the staff after being taken out of the water. It's nice that they don't let the animals suffer, unlike what I've seen in other fish farms.

A magnificent spot just a stone's throw from Villeneuve, nestled near the river. You'll find a haven of peace where you can see a pond and the shaded restaurant in the background. The concept of catching your own trout and bringing it to the chef to be cooked over a wood fire is wonderful and very enjoyable for both children and adults. The staff is very friendly and professional. This place is a family affair where you feel right at home. Remember to book in advance to avoid disappointment and be able to stay in this little paradise.

Great restaurant, nice shade, very good time

There's some negatives in other reviews like cash only, there's some people smoking, tables close, menu items aren't provisioned for capacity etc. They are all true. However, If you change all that you won't have the same place that people rate 5 stars. It's a whimsical place and it is a charm of it's time. A lovely secluded area with a pond to fish your trout. The kids loved it, the food was delicious and simple. The menu is fair priced to the rest of Europe. Enjoy places like this before they become a distant memory.

Great experience. I appreciate the service

A simple and effective menu: you can fish for your own trout (or not!) which will be braised for you and served with potatoes and salad. The welcome is warm and the service quick, in a beautiful, bucolic setting. We tried the morel cream sauce, which wasn't particularly impressive: the lemon butter sauce served as standard was much better! The homemade chocolate mousse was delicious! We'll gladly return!
