La Petite Ardoise sur Fontainebleau

I remember La Petite Ardoise. Everything about it was rich, warm, generous. Here, you eat, and the place seems built for that wonderfully primal thing: to be hungry, then to be filled. We were presented with the marrow bone. And what a bone! Half a tibia split lengthwise, exposing its burning, golden, quivering marrow. We scraped it with a spoon and spread it on crusty bread; a few crystals of salt burst under our teeth. It was opulence reduced to three things as simple as a bone, salt, and bread. Then came the ribeye steak, thick and bloody. Beneath its brown crust, the knife revealed the hot, red meat, its juices slowly seeping into the dish. This feast had ingredients that wouldn't appear on any menu: a place, a time, the person sitting opposite you, and the carefree feeling of not yet knowing that one day, this ordinary moment would become such a precious memory. I booked a table at this restaurant for our 3-year anniversary thanks to the reviews I read... and I wasn't disappointed! 😉 The staff was wonderful, decorating our table with rose petals. 🌹 Our dessert, accompanied by a candle, was a truly touching touch. 🎂 Thank you to the two waitresses and the owner for their kindness and good cheer. The food was excellent; the concept of ordering generous portions of appetizers allowed us to try almost everything. The small, intimate terrace was perfect, as we hate crowds. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

A very pleasant experience. Fresh products, a high-quality and varied menu. A nice touch: you can choose between two portion sizes, perfect for smaller appetites or for trying out different dishes. The wine list is varied, and the setting is very pleasant and fresh. Excellent service. Reasonable price for 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 desserts, 2 soft drinks, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 coffees 😌 I will gladly return. Best of luck to the team!

We ate very well and were very well received, even at 1:15 pm! The concept of dishes in either "small" or "large" size is great.
