La Petite Auberge sur Le Hohwald

First experience at this Hohwald restaurant for a family lunch. We were warmly welcomed by smiling and attentive staff. The overall atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. The dishes were beautifully presented, tasty, and clearly prepared with care. Unfortunately, one detail significantly marred this otherwise positive impression. The small salad accompanying the fried food was particularly meager, and any additional portion was charged at €2.50. For a bill of €180 for four people, charging this extra for a few leaves of salad feels stingy and difficult to understand. It's a shame, because up until that point, everything was going very well. This small, inconsistent gesture ultimately overshadowed the rest of the experience. For this reason, despite the aforementioned positive aspects, I don't plan to return.

We had booked a surprise getaway for my husband, and from the very first phone call, the welcome made all the difference. Our expectations were met, with a most welcoming reception.

We took advantage of the long weekend to eat a matelotte at the small inn....as always the friendliness of the staff, the hearty and delicious meal were there.

A warm atmosphere, pleasant service, and authentic regional cuisine made with impeccably fresh ingredients. Special mention goes to the fish stew and its sauce. A must-visit during one of your hikes in this wonderful corner of Alsace.

We dined at this inn two nights in a row and enjoyed excellent food. Great value for money. We were welcomed by three friendly, energetic, and efficient women.

We had dinner at the small inn with our children. The welcome was perfect, very child-friendly. The cabbage was vegetarian and local. The roof was perfect, thank you! 👌🏼

The restaurant is a really great place; very good service, excellent food, and everything is homemade; I would definitely come back 🖤
