We had coffee Saturday morning at La Potinière.
The service was friendly and the place pleasant.
We had two coffees, each costing €3.50. It's a bit excessive for a simple cafe, but maybe that's due to the touristy location.
We also observed a customer ordering a fondue around midday. What surprised us was that during service, the handle for stirring the fondue was left in the fondue pot at the customer's house. In Switzerland, it's not done like that, but it was interesting to discover another way of doing things. A fun little cultural difference to observe.

We stopped in for a late lunch early dinner on a rainy afternoon in Chamonix. I was attracted to the Menu du Marche, which consisted of Salade, Duck Confit and Tiramasu for 16 Euro!
The food was delicious and we received fabulous service as we watched the rain.
It was a great way to end our visit to Chamonix, which had turned on overcast but lovely weather until then rain.

Very friendly restaurant
We went there twice
Raclettes for the first with a very good charcuterie with pickles to die for! Cheese as desired
And the second time
Onion soup/fondue (without cold meats, please note)
Garlic bread / Gratinated escalope
The dishes are delicious!

Back in Chamonix this week we came twice and were very pleasantly surprised by the evolution of the quality of the cuisine.
The friendly wait staff, the service was fast and the dishes were simple but really high quality (dish of the day, prime rib, etc.) everything was really perfectly cooked and seasoned (rare these days in this type of establishment)
We left with a much better opinion than when we arrived because we had been disappointed a few months ago during a meal with work colleagues.

La Potinière is the place where we come every time we stay in the Chamonix valley. We eat very well there and always have a warm welcome.

Tant pour la carte et que pour l’amabilité du serveur. Heureusement la déco est « assez sympa » et les toilettes Femmes propres.
