Very good restaurant with extremely kind and welcoming staff. Highly recommended if you're visiting Avignon! Very quiet place.

I discovered this lovely restaurant quite by chance. It's located a bit off the beaten track from the tourist hotspots and offers a pleasant atmosphere. The service is very friendly and leaves nothing to be desired.

A very pleasant place, a hidden gem! The food was lovely, and the young waiter was delightful with excellent taste in music. I highly recommend it.

Most tourists walking from the square of the Palais des Papes to the Pont Saint-Bénézet follow the same route, a colorful, cheerful, and noisy stream of people eager to visit this enchanting town. Well, right at the end of a parallel street on this stretch, sheltered from the cheerful chaos of tourists, is a square with tall trees. Among them are a few tables and chairs with plenty of space between them. These are the outdoor tables of "La Provende." It feels like a trattoria from another era, like those seen in our 1950s movies. In the shade of the trees, caressed by a light breeze, so common in Avignon, softened by the houses and walls, an atmosphere of serenity envelops us. It's worth going and sitting for this alone. Perfectly in keeping with this aura of tranquility is the calm and quiet voice of André, the manager of "La Provende." Even before asking what he can serve us, he'll ask us, without being intrusive, where we're from, if everything's okay, and if we like Avignon. A kind, big man with kind eyes, he's a great guy to chat with. You can stop at "La Provende" during the morning for a hot or cold drink, or you can stay for lunch or dinner. The menu (in all languages) offers a few delicious dishes, à la carte or with options like appetizer + main course + dessert, appetizer + dessert, or even main course + dessert—basically, whatever you like. I found the prices a little lower than average. What's definitely above average is the exquisiteness of the food and the kindness with which you're served, which also means you don't have to wait long, but you can take all the time you need.

I didn't originally want to write anything. Just to pass on the stars. But after the meal we had coffee and something small to go with it...and as they say here.. "heaven in your mouth". So for us, mere mortals, it's a wonderful place, great food and coffee with dessert, a glass and even the beer was good, but that's only because Pilsen beer lovers have their own preconceptions about beer, otherwise the beer in France was great too. If you're in Avignon and want to experience real, genuine, hospitable France, go to La Provende!! Thank you to the owners and we wish you many satisfied clients.
