La Rapiere sur Bayeux

On a recent visit to Bayeux we had dinner in 3 different restaurants on succeding evenings and La Rapiere was far and away the best. The atmosphere and decor, the friendly but professional service, and the delicious food were all top quality. We would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a good restaurant in Bayeux.

The service was wonderful, the food spectacular. A must-visit. A 10 out of 10!

Great food. Lovely friendly service, even if they did forget to bring out tea and coffee. Would certainly eat here again. The veal option was had by both of us. Outstanding. Lovely cheese course which was beautifully explained in perfect English.

Long overdue--La Rapière was one of the highlights of our teams trip to Normandy for the 82nd anniversary commemorations. Five of us came over for the occasion, and I was excited to return after having such an outstanding meal there in 2024. This visit was every bit as memorable. Linda was incredibly gracious—she actually remembered me from my prior visit and gave my friends and I such a warm welcome. That personal touch made an already-special evening feel even more meaningful. The food was excellent, the service was attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere was exactly what you hope for in Bayeux; warm, authentic, and memorable. Our entire group had a wonderful experience. La Rapière is absolutely a place I would return to again and recommend without hesitation.

Being Italian, I've eaten much better pizza in Italy (especially the tomato sauce wasn't the best), but for France, it's not bad.

We recently dined here, and the entire evening and the meal were fantastic. The waitress even spoke German and pampered us wonderfully. The non-alcoholic cocktail was perfectly balanced, and we were already impressed by the amuse-bouche. Both the appetizer and the main course were phenomenal! The rosemary and thyme sauce with the meat was exquisite. And the dessert perfectly rounded off everything: It was a true work of art, both visually and in terms of taste. Thank you!

Amazing dinner. The staff has been the kindest from start to beginning, they made us feel welcome and at ease. The food was delicious, we enjoyed every single dish, you can tell the chef is very attentive, chooses very good ingredients and knows how to cook to valorise them. Many many compliments to the whole staff, I think it's not easy to find places with passion for their job, so it's always a pleasure to discover them.

Truly wonderful. Food, service, atmosphere all exceptional. From start to finish it was a beautiful experience, would highly recommend. The quality of the food, wine, expertise of the chef, knowledge and attentiveness of the staff. A very special place!

Had a party of 5. Great service and care for nut allergy. Was given special prix fixe menu options that was organized beforehand for nut allergy . Food was great and service was perfect.

Without doubt the most charming and delightful restaurant we have visited in France (and we have visited many!). The high quality of ingredients is obvious but what impressed the most is how chef presents the dishes in such a fresh and uncomplicated way, which makes each dish seem simple and yet clearly a lot of love and thought has gone into everything. All that would be wasted of course if the front of house were not equally exceptional, however rest assured they are which made the whole experience so very enjoyable. This place is not to be missed. Second time here, can’t wait for the third.
