La Récréation sur Lourmarin

It was a wonderful evening with fantastic food. The 7-hour braised lamb in thyme sauce was divine, and so was the chocolate cake with a molten center and strawberry filling. We'll definitely be back! Thank you. :-)

We made a last-minute reservation on Sunday evening and were lucky enough to get a table. The dining area was warmly decorated, and the staff were very friendly. We ordered two set meals, and the dining experience was excellent and the food was incredibly delicious! The appetizer was perfectly cooked fish, served over a bed of fluffy spinach and an egg, accompanied by a rich cream sauce and olive oil. The main courses were confit lamb and steak. The steak portion was a little small, but the accompanying sauce and fries were very tasty. The confit lamb was a bit dry; perhaps I was expecting a more tender stewed lamb. For dessert, we had chocolate lava cake with ice cream and goat cheese drizzled with olive oil. The French bread was refillable, and the owner immediately replenished a new tub each time we finished. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend it.

We passed by a walk-in restaurant, and although we don't speak French, the staff were very friendly, especially a young waitress who patiently helped us take our order and made recommendations; we were very impressed with her. The food was alright, except the desserts were too sweet for Asian tastes.

A proper Provencal restaurant in Lourmarin. We were extremely well looked after and it felt very local! I'd thoroughly recommend. The goats cheese dessert was Incredible!

My husband and 2 young children came here on our first night in Loumarin. We had the confit lamb shoulder and braised beef, both of which were delicious and really good portion sizes. We sat in outside terrace and the staff were very accomodating with our children which was very much appreciated. Thank you!

Lovely to find a more traditional restaurant with great food. The menu is reassuringly short so what they cook they cook well. The place feels very traditional and the staff were quite attentive even though they were very busy. Would definitely go back here.

We loved this restaurant, we had a wonderful meal, with top-notch service and Lilli's kindness, a superb experience.

Overall, a decent restaurant. The dishes are well-prepared and tasty, but fairly classic and not particularly innovative. The service is adequate and quite fast. In fact, it seems as though some items, especially the appetizers, are prepared in advance, which probably explains the speed of service. A pleasant experience, but nothing truly remarkable.

Ten years later, still just as good! Very welcoming staff. The unique setting and menu, with its colorful binder paper, will take you right back to your childhood. I highly recommend this place! 🤩

Great food! French service. The terrace was a bit warm in September! The interior was cooler!
