La Rennaissance sur La Rochelle

A well-located brasserie-style restaurant opposite La Rochelle's town hall. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The sausage with aligoté sauce and the filet mignon with mustard sauce are good and well-prepared. The tables upstairs are pleasant. The prices are extremely reasonable. No surprises, but a very enjoyable experience.

My go-to spot, the place where I come to read, write, chat with the owner... Or just do absolutely nothing. Great welcome. A big advantage for the locals of La Rochelle in the summer: the tourists are all crammed into the old port, and the town hall square (which is magnificent, by the way) remains peaceful, away from the crowds and the mediocre street performances.

Super friendly and welcoming waitress

Such a great bar to hang out at! The lady serving us was super kind we had some products from the market and she let us snack on them while we enjoyed our drinks. The vibe was really chill, everyone had a smile, and it just felt like the perfect place to relax. Highly recommend!
