La Table de Gustave sur Ornans

I only know this restaurant from the news that Narumi, a Japanese student (RIP), used to eat here.

We just ate, it was delicious and the service was impeccable! The staff were fantastic, I'll definitely be back 😉👌

We discovered this establishment yesterday, a well-established address in the Loue Valley. Overall, we enjoyed the experience: the service was pleasant and the dishes matched the menu description. However, I noted two areas for improvement: The food: It's a shame the fries weren't fresh or homemade. Furthermore, in the future, creating a more elaborate signature dish—a specialty found only at your restaurant—would really encourage us to return more often. The comfort: We were there as a family and found it regrettable that smoking was permitted under the terrace during meals. As a smoker myself, I think it would be preferable to smoke at the front of the restaurant out of respect for other diners. The dishes were still well-prepared. On the terrace. A March lunchtime, with improbable weather :) Trout with cancoillotte cheese, rabbit in Vin Jaune sauce. Desserts: caramelized pear and French toast, ice cream sundae. Note the daily set menu (starter, main course, dessert) for €17, which is very good quality. The restaurant is on a dead-end street, so the terrace is very quiet. Sunny at lunchtime.

A lovely little stopover at this superb hotel! We truly enjoyed our stay; the wellness area was incredible and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. We also thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Thank you for this little slice of paradise!

The food was decent, and the staff were generally friendly and smiling. However, one member of staff seemed particularly annoyed by the presence of customers and didn't hesitate to make their feelings known with negative comments, even giving them a rather sour look in the dining room. As a result, we ate quickly, forgot about our aperitif, and left feeling judged. Not very welcoming.

Passing through Ornans, we stopped by chance at La Table de Gustave to ask if they could accommodate two people. It was 1:30 pm, and we received a very warm welcome. The staff were professional and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the €17 set menu (starter, main course, dessert) and especially the rabbit stew. Excellent! The homemade chocolate fondant was delicious.
