La Table de Jeanne sur Vannes

We had a very good meal! The food and presentation were very pleasant. However, The service was very fast... No time to think... no wine list, just a list, and most importantly, no prices! No aperitif offered... We ordered, and the starter was served very quickly, but they forgot the rest, like bread, etc. ... For the main course, there was a bit of a wait, but still no consideration for the customers... The service needs improvement. Afterwards, we saw that there were only two servers, and the restaurant was quite full. Perhaps they could be given some help; they're not magicians!

Good value for money, fast and efficient service.

We stumbled upon this place by chance, as it was on our route, and they accepted holiday vouchers, which I was having trouble using. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, and the service was efficient. No complaints whatsoever.

Ignoring the poor reviews and the rave reviews, we tried it for ourselves. The place itself is like Basil Fawlty running a restaurant but without the comedy. On arrival we were shown to a side room next to the kitchen. A bit like a large cupboard but with the added value of the constant crashing of the kitchen doors and plates crashing down in the wash station. The frenetic atmosphere made for a less than comfortable eating experience. The food, as is the case with French food, was very hit and miss. A fatty entrecôte steak not cooked anything like requested with a sauce which could well have been made with bistro granules. The monkfish was perfect. But the risotto resembled school dinner rice pudding when the cook was having a bad day. The crème Catalan deserts were exquisite and the wine, as always in France, was very good. Very hard to rate such a mixed bag. Suffice to say that I couldn’t recommend it.

Great restaurant. Cozy atmosphere. Small but excellent menu. Very friendly service. Reasonable prices. We'll gladly come again.
