La Table des 2 Marcel sur Port-En-Bessin-Huppain

We originally came for a cycling race in the area. We were charmed by the port and its character. Following a recommendation from our host at Les 2 Marcels, we went there. My friends and I enjoyed delicious dishes that were as pleasing to the eye as they were to the palate. I highly recommend it.

A very warm welcome. Refined, home-style cooking. Good cocktails and wines. Good value for money. Nicely decorated interior.

Drawn by the light, we went in... The owner didn't welcome us to our table, but pointed it out! Oh really... Her family was at the next table, talking loudly; the whole restaurant could hear their conversation! And the walkie-talkie to the kitchen wasn't very elegant, even though the decor was otherwise warm! What a shame... Because the chef is good, really, the food was beautiful, original, and generous! Nine oysters for €18 is expensive, especially since the restaurant next door charges €15 for them! In short, they need to improve to take things to the next level, keep trying! That's what's missing from the dining room...

A wonderful culinary discovery with original dishes and a menu offering a varied selection that will have us returning to try other flavors. The restaurant has a lovely, quiet terrace that we enjoyed for lunch in the sunshine.
