15/03/2026: We had a wonderful time with my eight friends from all walks of life. Booking was easy. The welcome was perfect. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious.

09/02/2026: Busy at lunchtime, even on a Monday in winter. The food is good, the service friendly and quick. At €17 for the starter and main course and €4 for 25cl of wine, the value is reasonable and explains its success. A minor drawback: the fries aren't the best... but the starter buffet and the andouillette sausage (not greasy) are quite good.

25/02/2026: Authentic, simple, and friendly. Very inexpensive. Indeed, a mix of regulars, tourists like myself, and workers. The two of them run the place expertly; it's quick, simple, good, and efficient. We went in October and came back especially for it. Still just as good!

07/04/2026: It was incredibly busy. The food was good. It's just a shame that if you order a cappuccino, you get a very small cup of coffee with whipped cream🫣. The coffee was so strong, it wasn't pleasant, too bitter. The waitress really had to work hard.
05/04/2026: A truly exceptional sense of service and hospitality; we had a wonderful evening, and despite lingering a bit at the table until quite late, the staff displayed a level of politeness and kindness rarely encountered.

Hotel-Restaurant la Marine

06/12/2025: The hotel is perfectly fine on the seafront. However, the €19 breakfast is a big NO!!! We went to have one at the port for half the price. The restaurant is far too expensive and of mediocre quality. To elaborate on your response, we specifically mentioned that the quality wasn't up to par, and as for the refined atmosphere, we were seated at a table of about twelve people, including children (no problem), one of whom was running around shouting, without your staff intervening to restore calm to the room for the sake of the other 40 guests. A shame, in our opinion, because the service itself was very good.
04/12/2025: Eight years ago, I said the location was ideal and the food was decent.
I recently went back for a business dinner featuring scallops: a disaster.
At a fishing port, after watching the boats come in, I ordered seared scallops and risotto.
The result: ridiculously small scallops, clearly frozen, not seared at all but literally boiled. And this in the middle of the season, when nearly 3,000 tons are landed annually in Port-en-Bessin.
It's incomprehensible.
My advice: avoid it.

15/02/2026: My husband and I came for lunch today and were very well received. The young waitress was smiling and helpful, as was the owner... we will gladly return.
05/02/2026: I came here on the recommendation of the 8 à Huit convenience store across the street. Cozy atmosphere. Lovely decor. Pleasant staff. Good value for money. Generous portions. Visually stunning.
The only downside was the slightly slow service. But to be fair, the chef is working alone in the kitchen. A three-course meal (starter, main, dessert) was €76 for three people. The whelk and shrimp were excellent, with homemade mayo. The daily special was a comforting tartiflette, perfect for February. We also had a crêpe with homemade salted caramel.
I recommend it.

22/02/2026: We originally came for a cycling race in the area. We were charmed by the port and its character. Following a recommendation from our host at Les 2 Marcels, we went there. My friends and I enjoyed delicious dishes that were as pleasing to the eye as they were to the palate. I highly recommend it.
20/02/2026: A very warm welcome. Refined, home-style cooking. Good cocktails and wines. Good value for money. Nicely decorated interior.

06/12/2025: We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and a special mention goes to the manager/waiter who gave us great recommendations and with whom we had a lot of laughs. Bonus of the meal: the restaurant's music is carefully selected :)
01/12/2025: The food is mediocre, the fries are undercooked, and I don't get the impression of good quality here.
When you order extra fries and are given a tray with a tiny handful of fries, even though you've already paid, and on top of that... there's a fried fish inside, I'm sorry, but that's unacceptable. The waiter's friendliness also seriously needs improvement.
The price isn't high... so naturally, the quality leaves much to be desired.

24/03/2026: The price did not reflect what was served on the plate: the scallops had rings in the scallop meat that hadn't been removed and were overcooked.
26/01/2026: Very small but wonderful restaurant. The escargot was fantastic as was the duck and chocolate fondant. Parking is a little sparse but other than that it serves as a perfect dinner spot.

03/04/2026: Highly recommended. Excellent. The scallops were a very refined dish, the ribeye steak was absolutely incredible, the Normandy beef was truly sublime. Top-notch staff.

06/04/2026: We chose mussels and fries (the fries were excellent) but not the mussels: perhaps it's not the season, in short, very disappointing for Bretons, 2 glasses of very expensive white wine (at the price of the bottle), if the competence is there, the smile is missing.
18/02/2026: Where to begin… First of all, the waiters, please, change professions! They don't know the meaning of the word "friendly." I ordered mussels marinière just because… there was no way I was going to spend more than €20 in this place.

30/01/2026: This review focuses on customer service, not the food or the hotel rooms.
I booked a table for three a week in advance for my mother's birthday. The reservation was made by phone, clearly stating that it was for a birthday.
The problem arose on the evening of the reservation: we arrived at a closed restaurant. I called the restaurant/hotel's number, but the person who answered seemed very surprised by my call and explained that it was closed on Friday evenings (the date of the reservation). They simply wished me a good evening.
I found myself 45 km from home at 7:30 pm without a table and without a restaurant to welcome us. For my mother's birthday...
The result: I drove 90 km for nothing, a birthday meal ruined by a lack of professionalism.
Again, I'm not judging the food at all; there's a reason I chose this restaurant, 45km from my home.
But I can't forgive the mistake, which is why I'm writing this review.
I advise all future customers to reconfirm all reservations 24 or 48 hours in advance; this will save you a very unpleasant surprise.
