An intimate, special place. Sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the atmosphere! The food was outstanding, as was the presentation.

A wonderful discovery awaited us at this small restaurant in St. Jeannet. We were the only ones inside, but the outdoor tables were full. My husband and I opted for the five-course tasting menu. The dishes were worthy of a gourmet restaurant. An explosion of flavors in every bite, the balance of each dish was perfect. Fresh, seasonal ingredients, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Each dish had its own unique character. We savored every bite. For a restaurant in a small village clinging to the mountainside, it easily rivals Michelin-starred establishments. And we mean it. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates tranquility, conviviality, and above all, refined cuisine. Both in presentation and taste! Thank you for your warm welcome and your smiles, not just to the servers, but also to the kitchen staff.

Hidden gem where everything fits!

Ok let’s start with the positive, we tried to book the night before and found they wanted a card payment to secure the booking. No problem except, the card payment did not go through. Not my card I hasten to add! So undeterred we travelled to St Jeanette and thought we would find a restaurant that could accommodate a table for two. The first one told us they were full, and then we found la tables des baous. Taking a chance we asked if they had a table for us. They did! What really intrigued me was the fact the menu options were limited and I have always enjoyed a limited menu cooked well. It is usually a sign a great things to come! The first course of amberjack tartar was lovely, the deep fried courgette flower was ok, I have had much better with more flavour but luckily my wife drew the short straw on this course I was enjoying the amberjack tartar. The second course of mushroom risotto was awful more. Like soup than a risotto. Risotto should be almost dry with the rice soft and moist full of flavour NOT a bowl of rice in a soup like consistency! .My wife who had the misfortune to order the risotto struggled to finish it and to be honest has made a much better tasting risotto many times herself. As for my, amberjack dish, well I have been a fisherman for 60 years, I have caught and eaten many species of fish throughout my lifetime in many countries and what I was served was not amberjack in any shape or form! The tartar was definitely amberjack but the main course was not, Do not get me wrong the fish ( sea bream or sea bass but probably bream) was cooked to perfection! But if you advertise amberjack serve it. If you run out tell the customer! I fully appreciate we were the English couple that walked in with no reservation and our French was limited, but please give us the decency of being honest with us after all we are paying a lot of money for this food. Had the food been better the cost would have been forgotten. Everything apart from the risotto was perfect, the fish was cooked perfectly but it was NOT amberjack it was at best wild sea bream at worst farmed Mediterranean Sea bream (a god awful fish that should never be served ever in a restaurant) So my review is mediocre to average food priced at high end food with mediocre to good service. Will I go back, NO! Was the food good Yes! Overall experience “felt let down and ripped off but overall it was ok, but should have gone somewhere else” There are much better restaurants to be found in the region, thankfully this is the only mediocre one we have found in our time travelling France. We will continue to explore the culinary delights of France but just won’t return here!

Incredible experience, fresh and high-quality produce. The "porcini mushroom medley" menu was perfectly executed. It was my first time at this establishment, and certainly not my last. The lemon tart was superb.

An absolute recommendation for a romantic dinner in St. Jeannet! We loved the atmosphere and the staff and the owner were very welcoming. The food was delicious - very fresh quality of the fish and every dish was cooked to perfection. We will definitely come again. :)
