La Table des Merville sur Castanet-Tolosan

I was desperately looking for a restaurant open on Easter Sunday in Toulouse and serving lamb... And what a nice surprise to discover the Merville table to make this day perfect! A treat for the taste buds with sketchy appetizers, a tasty starter, a perfect main course with its variation of lamb and a chocolate dessert to finish on a soft and sweet note. Thank you for the service and my compliments to the attentive chef. I highly recommend.

Update in 2024: the quality has gotten much worse compared to the last time I went. The staff is still very friendly, but the price is just as high and the quality is well below what is expected. The cassoulet in particular was pretty bad. A shame that I have lost so much compared to my last visit… 2023: Spectacular tasting menu. Everything delicious and the staff super friendly. The price is quite high but it is worth it!

Excellent cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Quirky and classy tableware.

It is rare to find restaurants of this quality at this price. It is even rarer to find people who are so kind to toddlers. We were wonderfully welcomed.

Although this restaurant has very good reviews, our meal did not completely live up to our expectations. For this birthday meal we decided to only have truffle dishes. There was a 'croque Madame au Cantal truffled spinach salad', two 'roasted scallops with truffle vegetable minestrone' and a 'boned pigeon stuffed with foie gras risotto of truffled chard' Even if we are not truffle specialists, we have the opportunity to eat them and we appreciate them. Regarding the croque madame: the taste of truffle was almost non-existent. Concerning the scallops with truffle: the scallops were very good but again, even when tasting the thin strips of truffle separately, it was difficult to feel a truffle aroma; We found the butter medallion in the center of the plate too strong compared to the finesse of the scallops and we ate it separately with the vegetables. As the pigeon is accompanied by a sauce with a strong presence, it is difficult to comment on the truffle aromas; on the other hand, I enjoyed it until the last bite with a dish with enormous flavors, complexity and very well cooked and extremely tender meat. For dessert we had the 1000 leaves which was excellent with lots of rich flavors, aromas and divine caramel. We had the wine by the glass and the choices offered to pair with the dishes were quality. The service was quality and with a smile. Concerning our rating it is explained because it is difficult to dissociate an expectation and the price that we devote to it. We can find really good menus for 50 to 60 euros... here we are still talking about a restaurant where the entry is 39€, the main courses are 49 and 55 € and a meal for 2, with wine and desserts, close to €280 m. Our disappointment can be explained by the gap between a legitimate expectation and what we tasted. Our son-in-law is a chef and we know that it is a very demanding and difficult job...perhaps we were wrong :( Sincerely

Refined dishes, with just the right quantities (neither too much nor too little), a foie gras cappuccino to die for (I admit I have a weakness for this appetizer), quality service, without being too stuffy, ... in summary: an excellent time

A superb Valentine's Day evening spent in this gourmet restaurant, every step of the menu was excellent. There was no shortage of quantities either... Nothing to complain about!

The welcome, the service and the cuisine are impeccable. We had an excellent evening. The dishes from the land, sea and garden menu delighted us with quality products and taste combinations that were sometimes surprising, sometimes comforting. Thank you for this beautiful evening!
