This little restaurant and beer bar is the hidden gem of La Madeline. From the moment we walked through the door, we were heartily welcomed. The waitress was exceptionally friendly& kind, as was another (regular?) guest Jerome, who kindly helped us understand what was on the set menu. I had the scallops with lentils and carrots and a creamy mashed potato...the scallops were cooked to perfection. (The chef certainly knows what he is doing.) My husband had the beef entrecote with a red wine sauce, chips and salad. The meat was so tender...again a nod to the chef for his expertise. (Also on the menu was a horse steak, we didn't sample it but I saw several other guests who were impressed with it.) Desert for us was Rum Baba.. excellent!!! And the most divine chocolate desert, listed as chocolate gateaux but was more of a deliciously rich & gooey, dense chocolate tart. If you want hospitality and authentic food from northern France at its best then do not miss the opportunity to visit La Table Ha-Tof. Our only regret was that we hadn't discovered it earlier on in our stay.
On y goûte, on y retourne.
