La Taverne sur Chantelle

Arriving too late in the town to discover the restaurant, I nevertheless enjoyed excellent pizzas at the food truck. The warm welcome encourages us to come back quickly! A big thank you for the little glasses of rosé offered 😉

I stopped at La Taverne in Place Marcel Sauvaire, initially for a Café espresso after my ride through the local gorge. I liked the ambience and the view so I decided to stay for lunch. The menu is extensive with many choices, including 17 different pizza options. I chose the Spéciale. It was too much for me, so I only ate half, and they wrapped the other half in alfoil for me I recommend trying the spicy piment cardomame oil on your pizza. I then had a dessert. The dessert menu also has many options. I decided on the Sodade du cap vert. It was delicious. My waiter Gilles was patient with me due to my poor French pronunciation and brought me an Anglais menu, and spoke in English with me. He was attentive, but not too present.
