La taverne du chateau sur Carcassonne

They don't take reservations, so when we finished visiting the castle, we went back to this restaurant for lunch. We ordered the typical cassoulet, onion soup, and entrecote steak with potatoes, all for two people, and yes, it was a lot, but we didn't regret it at all because everything was delicious. That said, we didn't have room for dessert. We really liked the restaurant, the service was very friendly, and the food, as I said, was a 10/10, so I recommend it. We also didn't think it was too expensive for everything we ate. Oh! And the wine! What a delicious wine! We didn't order any particular one; we drank the house wine.

Very happy we stopped in here for lunch. They had a fixed price menu for €19 that was fantastic. Very filling and home-style cooking.

We arrived late and were served in a friendly and helpful manner. The burgers were delicious.

Good menu at a reasonable price and friendly service, even though it was a busy day due to the incredible number of people visiting the Cité on the first Sunday of December (admission is free every first Sunday of the month). No frills, but tasty.

The food was quite good, the burgers better than expected, the crema catalana wasn't anything like the real thing but it wasn't bad, whatever it was, and the service was good until we went to order dessert, when it took quite a while to get served. Nice spot inside the castle.

Great cozy place with friendly staff. Beautiful location, fairly priced, generous portions. We ate here for late lunch / early dinner during our Christmas vacations in Carcassonne. They even served us 3PM on Christmas day. Would come back anytime!
