Delicious and hearty dishes awaited us in a small village we stumbled upon. Alsatian influences are evident in the lighter dishes, which are anything but ordinary while remaining indulgent and generous. Even the vegetarian option was very substantial (and colorful). The blueberry pavlova was excellent. The service, a little reserved at first, quickly became very friendly.

A very nice, inviting restaurant. The food was delicious. Our group had to wait a very long time for the menus, and we weren't asked beforehand if we wanted to order drinks. The owner is a bit eccentric, which takes some getting used to. Nevertheless, everything went well overall, and we returned to the hotel full and satisfied. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

If you are in the area around Colmar/Eguisheim, eat at La Taverne Médiévale, 11, rue Haute, 68420 Gueberschwihr. The restaurant is housed in an old CAVE from 1658. Park in the square and walk the last 50 m. It looks like nothing, but it is. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Book a table in advance/inside. French for domestic needs is an advantage, but not a must. ENJOY.

Quite sincerely the best food I have eaten in decades. Even though the place doesn't look like much and we strolled in because another restaurant was closed, this is by far, one of the best chefs of the region. The quality, quantity, flavours, advice on wines were second to none. And very much affordable compared to what you are being served! A must go when you are in Alsace. Merci infiniment pour une (re)découverte de la culture culinaire de terroir. Imbattable

Auberge Saint Marc

14/07/2026: The innkeeper is wonderful. We were at the climbing site across the street with a lively group of 18 children. I called the inn around 1 p.m. because the children had run out of water in their bottles, and she told me to come to her place. She refilled all 18 children's bottles with fresh water while they were busy serving, all with a cheerful attitude. So I highly recommend this very welcoming inn where the dishes that passed before our eyes while we waited looked absolutely delicious.
19/05/2026: I didn't come here for the food... there are beautiful caravans (roulottes) where you can stay overnight surrounded by nature, near horses, etc. The owners are modest, very friendly, and hospitable people. I was able to speak to them in German 🇲🇫🇩🇪. I'd love to come back ❤️ It was a truly special experience.

30/07/2026: A truly wonderful place! Beautifully decorated and located in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards. (By the way, the Heytens curtains are stunning and really enhance your restaurant's ambiance 😉)
