La trattoria sur Strasbourg

A small, warm, family-run restaurant. The staff are attentive; we go there from time to time and it's always a very pleasant experience!

A very good Italian restaurant tucked away in a quiet, pleasant corner of the city center. The dishes are delicious, prepared with ingredients that seem truly fresh. Molte grazie!

This place might have had it a long time ago. Nowadays, the owner tries to push the expensive wine per glass, is a bit forgetful, and the kitchen does not seem to try too much when cooking the food. We had the daily special, the swordfish, in Sicilian style. What we got was a thin slice but large piece of the fish, and some accompanying pasta with a very basic tomato sauce. As the fish was very thin, it was overcooked and dry. I have made this myself better and am still wondering what the Sicilian style meant... could not have been supermarket pasta with simple tomato sauce. The first glass of 8euro wine got served in thick, unbreakable glass. Taking away all the elegance. The owner did not even see i did not have a glass when we got the demi bottle of pinot gris and I ended up using my water glass, as for style and elegance, it did not matter much anyway. Go for the terras, but not for the food or drinks.

We're in Strasbourg, and yet I was craving pasta. We arrived at this trattoria thanks to Google Maps. Honestly, it reminded me of the small restaurants in the shade of large, refreshing trees in Rome. The waitress greeted us with a big smile and an accent that would make the Romans green with envy! I chose the four-cheese pasta: delicious, a little rich for dinner, but I loved it. Léonie, more sensible, let herself be won over by the sole fillets—wonderful, she loved it. Finally, the dad, the boss, came to greet us for a few seconds, with his lovely accent and great kindness. A lovely evening in Strasbourg… well, almost!

This restaurant may not look like much, but the food is very good: the plates are generous and the menu is rather varied. However, don't expect to find a plethora of pizzas; there aren't any. Very well located on Place Saint Thomas, the setting is pleasant. The service is fast. I recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table. #petitefrance #strasbourg #italianfood
