La Vieille Auberge sur Le Mont-Saint-Michel

Où déjeuner dans un lieu si touristique fréquenté chaque jour par des milliers de visiteurs. C’est très difficile ! Cela ne sera pas chez la Mère Poularde avec des omelettes aux œufs d’or (vu le prix de l’omelette, il n’y a pas d’autres explications). Ce sera la Vieille Auberge où j’ai pu trouver un très bon service, plutôt sympathique, une nourriture, certes moyenne mais tout à fait honorable. Donc, un choix, ma foi, correct et un déjeuner sans regret. Jean-Michel

Very well eaten, and rather quick service considering the crowd

I can't understand the many negative reviews. We visited the restaurant and everything was fine. The staff was polite and took their time with our order even though it was very busy. We waited about 10 minutes for a free table. The food is at restaurant prices, which is because it is a restaurant and not a takeaway. Therefore, you shouldn't expect snack prices. The food came quickly and was tasty, but could have been a little warmer. There was free tap water. We spent €55 for 2 adults and 1 child.

There were a lot of people everywhere, as always at Mont Saint Michel, some restaurants made us wait, this one found us a table quickly for 3 people despite it being crowded, the price of the daily menu was very attractive but what's more, the whole menu was good. The staff overwhelmed but pleasant. Delicious Monaco! Tourist restaurant but very correct.

We spent 2 days at Mont Saint Michel, the hotel location is great to enjoy the mountain in the evening and the magnificent view of the bay, we ate at the restaurant of the same group, the staff is welcoming and the food good

We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the view so grabbed a table near the edge when we saw one available. We ordered a bottle of white burgundy that was quite good for the price. The man who waited on us was nice. They were closing early so we didn't stay for dinner. An older woman came around with a portable credit card machine. The bill didn't say "servis compris" like others so I asked because I wanted to tip if not. She replied "if you wish" which was odd. My husband paid with a credit card and then pulled a 10 euro bill out of his pocket and put it on the table for the waiter. You could see the woman's mind spinning for about 3 seconds then she snatched it up for herself with Disney witch-like fingers and took off. I should have chased her but my husband told me to let it go. Definitely put a bad taste in my mouth after what had been a nice experience outside. So - don't tip unless you put it in the hands of the person who actually served you.
