Monstrous as well, taste nowhere to be found.
Tourist trap!
25/04/2026: We were there as a family and loved staying at L'Ermitage. The family room overlooked the bay on one side and the abbey on the other. It was very quiet, the room was well soundproofed, and the bedding was comfortable. The location is excellent, and it's so pleasant to enjoy Mont Saint-Michel in the evening and morning when there are very few people. Breakfast was also very good (at the Auberge de la Mère Poulard).

02/05/2026: The location is unbeatable — right next to the free shuttle bus stop to Mont St. Michel and from Pontorson train station. It's also close to the Keolis bus stop if you're taking the train from Rennes. The rooms are clean and have adequate space. It’s also nice to have a water station at the end of the corridor where you can refill your bottle.
Breakfast is very sad. It is better to buy a sandwich at the shop across the road. Dinner is also not worth having where you are — go eat at Mont Saint-Michel instead. The staff at the breakfast place are confusing. The person at the reception lets you find your own place, whilst another, who looks like a manager, demands — with a snap of the finger — that you sit at a designated area, rather than asking you politely.
29/04/2026: There's really nothing bad to say here. The service was excellent, always helpful and friendly. The rooms were a good size and clean, the beds comfortable, and there was a refrigerator and shelves. The only downside is that the toilet is in a separate room and not integrated into the bathroom. It's a bit cramped.
The location is fantastic; Mont Saint Michel is just a short walk away.
Parking costs €10 per day for access to the entire grounds after the barrier.
The hotel sends a code via SMS/email 1-3 days before arrival, which you can use to pass through the barrier.
We treated ourselves to breakfast at the Mercure in the annex for €19. It was a good, plentiful breakfast buffet with friendly staff, but nothing particularly outstanding.

19/04/2026: Upon entering the restaurant, we received no welcome whatsoever (no greeting, no glance, etc.). Once seated, we had ample time to read the reviews, which are entirely consistent with the restaurant's reputation.
We had to wait over ten minutes for our menu. Changing or removing an ingredient from a galette is impossible, let alone doing so with a smile.
Let's talk about the food... It was lukewarm, the galette was soggy, and I suspect it wasn't fresh. When we went to the restroom, we noticed several flies, not to mention the lack of cleanliness. We didn't risk ordering dessert.
To end on a positive note, I suggest you review your customer service, the quality of your food, or perhaps your pricing. I advise you to take into account the 400 reviews, which are rated HORRIBLE.
I strongly advise everyone to avoid this restaurant; it's a complete rip-off. Good luck, forever!
18/04/2026: Very disappointed. The room was not as advertised. After spending days searching for the perfect room for our mother's (and grandmother's, as the whole family chipped in) 80th birthday, with a view of the bay (a lifelong dream), we learned that the only window in her room looked out onto a roof, just 10 cm from it. So, no view whatsoever. At over €200 per night, this is certainly disappointing. Especially since the hotel is trying to excuse itself by saying they never claimed the photos were accurate. Except that nowhere is there any mention of "photo not contractual" or any other wording suggesting the room wouldn't be the one shown in the picture.
In short, this is unacceptable, and we are extremely disappointed. If this had been clear from the start, we wouldn't have booked this room, and certainly not at this price!

12/05/2026: Run away! Unless you like oil in an omelet (no typo).
The chicken is fried to a crisp, soggy you could practically touch the soles of your shoes, and the taste of oil lingers in your mouth for over an hour and a half... You'll end up with overcooked, dry rice...

The staff is funny, warm, and extremely welcoming. You immediately feel at ease thanks to their good humor and professionalism.
24/11/2025: We came for lunch on Sunday the 23rd. It was good, but nothing amazing. I don't know if it was the eggs mayonnaise or the ribeye steak, but I've had stomach pains for almost two days now; it's unbearable. I think there's a problem with hygiene or the freshness of the food. I won't be going back.

23/04/2026: Gas station sandwiches for a price you'd expect here: 8 euros for rubbery bread with chicken, vegetables, and cheese. The Italian panini is much better.
12/04/2026: I was honestly very disappointed with my experience at this café. The price of the croissant was completely wrong, which is unacceptable. But the worst part was the service: the waitress was unpleasant, with absolutely no sense of customer service, not a smile, not even a hint of politeness. You really feel like you're bothering them. It's a shame, because the place could be nice, but with service like that, it definitely doesn't make you want to come back.

15/11/2025: We tried to grab some food but the host was rude and looked to be a racist. He had a big smile with other guests speaking French but yelled at us. Trust there are other shops on this island loving to serve you even you cannot speak French.
11/11/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant but were very disappointed. It was absolutely not good value for money. In the "crêpe complète" (a type of savory crepe), the slice of ham was clearly the cheapest available, and the galettes were sparsely filled. The service needs improvement; the waiter, while bringing the plates, asked, "Who ordered what?"... (and I won't even mention the tone and nonchalance). There was a long wait.
And to top it all off, there was no option to have coffee at the end of the meal ("We don't serve coffee," they said...).

28/02/2026: I came for lunch today with my family. To be honest, it was my first time eating at a restaurant on Mont Saint-Michel. The welcome was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was impeccable and quick. The quality was excellent, no complaints whatsoever. And I would like to sincerely thank the young woman who took a photo of my family and me. I will definitely be back.
28/02/2026: Food was made quickly, we got pizza that was burnt but the kind staff brought us right away different one without charging us anything in addition. The food was overall fine, but quite expensive which is expected in the tourist destination. The closest city is around 40 minutes by foot, so for us it was an okay choice.

14/05/2026: Terrible service! The menu was very expensive considering what was offered. There wasn't even water on the table. The ribeye steak was overcooked, and the sauces and side dishes were served in small cardboard bowls. No one came to ask at the end of the meal if we wanted coffee or anything else. When it came time to pay, the owner took our money in two seconds without even looking at us, no hello, no goodbye. A couple with children walked in at that moment, and the owner rudely called out to them: "Wait here, someone will come and seat you!" A disgrace! Absolutely no consideration for the customers.
14/05/2026: We chose this restaurant at random for a quick meal with a hungry child.
Worse than anything. A €30 set menu for bagged salad that was already wilted, undercooked frozen fries, and a mass-produced apple pie that even supermarket apples could have. The Caesar salad had the equivalent of a sixth of a tomato, slimy bagged chicken, all swimming in a tasteless Caesar dressing so overpowering it made the whole thing inedible. And the final course: carbonara that defies description, so mediocre.
Even the coffee was bad. An €8 glass of Burgundy that I suspect was some old, acidic plonk diluted with water!
Avoid at all costs. A tourist trap like no other. We weren't expecting good home cooking, but never anything like this!

Non ci metterò più piede neanche a pregarmi.
13/08/2024: Abbiamo pranzato con delle ottime crêpes dolci e del buonissimo succo di mela. Bellissimo locale con travi in legno a vista situato sopra un negozio di souvenir da cui si entra, personale simpaticissimo e cibo di qualità. Da provare!!

02/06/2024: El hotel y el restaurante carecen de higiene, está todo sucio. La calidad de la comida es nefasta, completamente desaconsejable. Se aprovechan de la ubicación y de los turistas. Los otros hoteles y restaurantes de la zona son mucho mejores.
14/02/2024: Excepté une vue magnifique sur le Mont Saint Michel, côté restauration on appel cela, un attrape chinois !!!

Au pelerin

31/08/2024: Das Au Pelerin ist sehr klein (es besteht aus der Bar und ein paar Stühlen gegenüber) aber es hat eine wunderbare zum Ort passende Atmosphäre. Vieles davon ist der Freundlichkeit des Personals geschuldet, das die Flut an Besuchern entspannt regelt. Die Preise für ein Frühstück sind für einen Touristenhotspot angemessen, daher volle Empfehlung von meiner Seite.
20/08/2024: Exactly how a snack bar should be: good food, local people, good price. I would recommend this to anyone who want a good value lunch.
