La Villette sur Rochefort

Following a recommendation from a fellow walker, we went into this small, simple but welcoming restaurant. We received a very warm welcome; it was quite busy, but we waited patiently. The meal was excellent; we were pleasantly surprised by the food, everything was delicious. I chose a glass of white wine from the Charentes region, which was excellent—a little dry yet also slightly fruity. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Rochefort. I went there for the first time not long ago and honestly, I'll definitely be back! The food is great, and the owners are fantastic! It feels like stepping into a charming old-fashioned bistro; I absolutely love it!!

A warm welcome! Friendly, welcoming, and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! A great place! The starter, main course, and dessert were all perfect. A French-style brasserie where you can enjoy fresh, seasonal produce! Plus, the portions are generous. So go without hesitation, because this place is a little gem! 😋 We'll be back!

Very satisfied. Old-fashioned bistro with excellent homemade food. And on top of that, friendly owners. I will definitely return on my next visit to Rochefort.

A proper bistro. Very friendly and pleasant. Excellent food. The sauerkraut and hanger steak were exquisite, and the homemade fries were superb. The portions were generous and the dessert from La Rochelle, "le lanchée," was delicious. We were with friends and had a great time in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Thank you for maintaining this ambiance. I highly recommend it.

Just passing through…drawn in by the 50s/60s bistro style and the typical dishes on the menu and à la carte. A warm welcome from the two waitresses and the owner at the bar. Excellent value for money, I'll be back as soon as possible!

Nice setting, friendly staff, nice food

I'm responding to Melique, who hides behind this site to criticize one of the oldest restaurants in Rochefort. Jean Claude, the owner, should probably be retired, but his life is this Rochefortian bouchon!! So move on and go to Flunch, you'll be better served there. Personally, I eat there regularly and it's great, fresh produce, home-cooked cuisine with character. I highly recommend it.
