This meal had the sinister grace of a plated sham. It takes remarkable audacity to bill a fish as a gastronomic experience when its heart seemed to be discovering, along with us, the very principle of cooking. The rice, packed with the indifference of a bag's bottom, achieved that gustatory neutrality that only establishments completely reconciled with mediocrity can pull off. The virgin sauce, for its part, deserves a separate mention: rarely has a condiment so strongly resembled a personal vendetta. Its memory still resurfaces in waves, as if to remind us that some mistakes have lasting consequences. The high point of the evening, however, remains the moment when, having asked if the food was homemade, we received an almost insultingly confident "of course," while behind the waiter, the microwaves lined up in the kitchen like the true conductors of this lukewarm farce. It took a certain amount of courage to lie with such composure, or perhaps a profound contempt for one's customers. As for the chef, his main talent seems to be transforming approximation into doctrine and half-baked frozen food into a culinary signature. One leaves with a rare feeling: not that one has eaten badly, but that one has been taken for a fool with almost artistic precision.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time on the terrace overlooking the harbor. The meal was excellent and plentiful; everything was perfect! We will gladly return.

Passing through Rochefort for the weekend, we chose this restaurant. We had made a reservation, which was a good thing we did because it was a Saturday night and it was starting to fill up. Apart from a minor hiccup with my order being taken, everything went smoothly. The service was quick, the portions generous, and the staff friendly.

We arrived by chance in the evening, having never heard of the place, and were warmly welcomed and served quickly. The duck burger was amazing. The salad was also delicious. A real pleasure, with perfect hosts.
