Laksøn sur Lille

A wonderful discovery! We had just arrived from our Savoyard mountains for the Lille flea market and waited to enjoy the traditional mussels and fries on the patio at the back of the restaurant. The service was impeccable and very professional. We enjoyed it so much that we returned that evening to try the menu, which had caught our eye. We will definitely go back, but to the other Rouen location during the Armada festival.

A warm and inviting setting in the heart of Old Lille, with beautifully presented dishes. As a food skeptic, especially when it comes to fish, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors I discovered. A truly wonderful experience that's well worth the trip!

Romantic dinner, aperitifs (Martini), a selection of herrings with Nordic cream as an accompaniment, then for the main courses, a Gravlax platter and a four-flavor salmon platter, two glasses of Petit Chablis (not chilled enough for our taste, just like the carafes of water) because the Pouilly wasn't available. Service was fine, but we didn't immediately grasp the descriptions of the dishes (perhaps a hearing issue on our part). One minor drawback, but still... when you go to the restroom, you have free access to the kitchen (just a table acting as a barrier) while being an auditory spectator to the very colorful verbal exchanges of the kitchen staff... We could easily do without that. A truly pleasant dinner on the terrace. The setting was lovely and peaceful, and once again, the service was pleasant (Mademoiselle, please smile a little; Monsieur, please enunciate more clearly and take a little more time). €109 for two, and then there's that dreaded card machine asking if you'd like to leave a tip (which, for us, somewhat spoiled the experience...). We had been waiting a long time for the opportunity to come to this restaurant, and don't get us wrong, we highly recommend it and wanted to be specific in our comments.

In a word: divine! A delight with both the starter and the main course, a fish of exceptional finesse and taste!
