L'Amiral sur Concarneau

Excellent meal at Commissioner Dupin's restaurant, and at his table no less. Thank you to the whole team for this wonderful experience.

The experience fell short of expectations: the place is very nice and always well-attended, but the offerings were a bit disappointing. It's all rather pretentious and geared toward passing tourists.

We went there two days in a row, and both times the food was exceptionally good and the service attentive and friendly. On the first evening, we didn't have a reservation, but we were still able to get a table.

A tourist trap like no other. The entrecote was difficult to eat, so sinewy and almost tough. Was it even an entrecote? The fish sauce was very watery. We expected something different. Very disappointing.

We got a table by the window after making a reservation, which is mandatory otherwise. The restaurant looked fine. Regarding the food: the cover charge (a pâté) was very good. However, the toasted white bread was so hard it was almost impossible to eat. So we had the regular white bread that came with my appetizer (scallop carpaccio). The potatoes we ordered separately didn't arrive with the fish (sole). The fish itself was really good, though. My husband ordered an entrecôte. It was so tough he couldn't cut it, let alone bite into it. Dessert: My husband chose the Commissaire Dupin menu, which included baba. I wasn't even asked. The waiter simply placed the dessert between us and gave us two spoons. I said I'd like to choose something as well, and then I received the menu a while later. The crème brûlée was very good. Then we went to pay. We asked for the bill. No one came. So my husband went to the cashier. No one came. We jokingly considered just leaving. Well, we ended up paying after all. All in all, very disappointing, especially since we had been really looking forward to visiting the restaurant of the fictional detective, Inspector Dupin.

Leaving Monsieur Dupin aside for a moment 😉 It was lovely here. Not only that, everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommended, even if you're not familiar with Dupin. 👍

Totally overrated. We booked two months in advance for our wedding anniversary and got the worst table. The entrecote Dupin was tough. The worst meal of our entire Brittany road trip.

Excellent welcome from all the staff. Very attentive and always smiling. We had lunch at the restaurant. The food was superb, and the seafood was plentiful and delicious. The chef prepares the lobster with a wonderful little sauce that's his own secret recipe! We highly recommend this establishment.

Fish restaurant on the Concarneau quayside. The food is good quality, but the portions are small for the price. Cloth napkins would be more appropriate than the small paper ones.

A fantastic experience at L'Amiral this sunny August! The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The setting is also wonderful. I highly recommend it!
