Based on the excellent Google reviews, we chose L'Ardoise in Lamballe and were not disappointed. The menu was superb, and we particularly enjoyed the sharing appetizers. We found the mix of regional, traditional Breton dishes and fresh daily specials of fish and meat to be very well done. They also offer children's and vegetarian options.
We highly recommend it.
The service was also excellent, and all our questions were answered in English.

Second visit this week, and it confirms that this is an exceptional place.
From the welcome to the coffee, everything is perfect 👍
The whole fish (John Dory) cooked on the griddle with vegetables is simply incredible and fresh.
The fish is cooked to perfection.

Discovered by chance during a stopover in Lamballe. Would you ever think of having a good lunch opposite the train station? Probably not...😉. Well, that's a prejudice to reconsider regarding the menu. A nice menu, but I chose the andouillette (my personal egg mayonnaise test 😉). A pleasant visual surprise: beautiful, unique fries, and an andouillette with plump, juicy sausages that didn't come from a factory that calibrated a tube to a certain size. Second part of the test: good bread 👌. So rare! Pleasant and efficient service.
My advice: don't hesitate to go in!

With my aperitif, I was treated to a small snack, a very pleasant surprise. The main course was also very appetizing. The dessert was pure bliss. I highly recommend this friendly establishment.
