Passing through Châtenois, we decided on a whim to stop at this restaurant. Personally, I think the €6.90 bottle of water is a bit steep, and the bagged salad was just okay.

We ordered a set menu featuring local cuisine. Nothing exceptional... but we spent almost two hours at the table. I'm not a culinary expert, but it's a menu that I don't think requires any last-minute preparation... and the restaurant was far from full.

We were passing through and received a very warm welcome and the food was excellent (my craving at the time was for a good flammenkuch with Munster cheese...and it was delicious...). My partner, who was on crutches, was even helped by a very friendly customer...thank you!

If you're going to Chatenois, don't go any further. Stop at the Auberge Alsacienne. Your meal will be delicious and your drink delightful. Mrs. Barth is lovely and worthy of bringing her husband's wonderful dishes. Don't hesitate.

12/04/2026: Small rooms but ok. Familyowned hotel, Food is good. Owner is very nice and there is a winemaker 50 m up the road with very nice wines and Cremants.

Hotel Restaurant Beysang

06/06/2026: We spent two nights in this superb, typically Alsatian hotel. The welcome was exceptional, and the room was perfect for four people (the bathroom was spacious and clean). On our first evening, we ate at the hotel restaurant; it was delicious, fresh, and the desserts were homemade—what more could you ask for? The staff and the owner are wonderful; it was a pleasure chatting with her. We had a lovely time and will gladly return for another stay.
23/04/2026: We had lunch at the restaurant and it was absolutely excellent. Traditional, homemade cuisine – a lovely surprise! ☺️
