L'Auberge Provençal sur Mons

09/08/2026: This bakery is truly unique! First, the opening hours are unusual (8:30 am - 1:00 pm, and sometimes in the evening, but it's a bit hit-or-miss). Then there's the selection: no bread or baguettes early in the morning, so come back at 11:00 am. One morning, there were only croissants, pain au chocolat, and freshly baked fougasse; the next day, even though they were earlier, there was a much wider selection. But in three visits, I couldn't get my hands on their baguettes: either too early or too late. ^^ There's a random element to it that makes the visit feel authentic. However, their bread, pastries, and viennoiseries are absolutely divine. I understand why people drive up to half an hour or even an hour to buy from them. Everything is generous, flavorful, and I dare say: excellent. Among the best I've ever tasted. They must use a phenomenal amount of butter, but the result is undeniable, and their customers know it. If you're in the area, a stop is a must. Congratulations: this bakery has a soul and a very beautiful interior.
