Located right next to the Palais des Papes and across from the Opera House. It's not luxurious, but simply and practically furnished and clean. We miss being able to squeeze our own oranges at breakfast. It's a shame we can't park directly at the hotel to unload luggage and then park in the underground parking garage. The 20% discount on the parking ticket is welcome. The walk from the parking garage to the hotel with luggage and clothes on a coat rack is difficult for those over 75.

Ideally located hotel. Very comfortable luxury room with a view of the palace and the theater. Very friendly staff. Top-notch hotel.

27/01/2026: The place is nice, but the food isn't up to par. I came six months ago and found the (small) slice of savory tart bland and greasy. I tried again today...same result. The quality/quantity/price ratio is unsatisfactory. Really. In my opinion, it's an overrated place in Avignon. The service, however, was very good.

Le Moutardier du Pape

07/11/2025: When visiting the Palais des Papes in Avignon, the least you can do is eat at Le Moutardier du Pape, if only to enjoy its magnificent terrace. The food is good, simple but very well-executed, and the staff is both professional and attentive. If you eat there, try their fries; they're simply incredible. In Avignon, where the heat can be quite intense, this place is highly recommended. What's more, the beer is excellent, and good beer goes hand in hand with good food.
29/10/2025: Fantastic dinner! Everything was delicious! The staff were lovely and efficient! Excellent value for money, very pleasant dining room, and an unbeatable location. Don't pay attention to the less positive reviews; this is definitely a place to recommend!
