Le 8 Mai sur Cluses

13/06/2026: Absolutely flawless! My husband and I rarely eat out because, being both such food lovers, we're always on a diet. But on a beautiful Saturday at lunchtime, this little restaurant in the center of Cluses was calling our name. Honestly, we weren't expecting anything special. And we were wrong. A restaurant is also judged by the little things: good bread, homemade fries, crudités with quality vegetables, for example, and perfectly cooked food. These little touches are actually essential. We were delighted: the salad with burrata was delicious, with plump, flavorful tomatoes, a wonderfully creamy burrata, pine nuts, and various onions. The homemade lasagna was exceptional: the meat filling was incredibly tender yet flavorful, the lasagna sheets were perfectly cooked, and the layer of light, airy cheese béchamel was simply perfect. I swiped some of my husband's fries, which were clearly homemade, and they were just right: cooked perfectly without being overcooked, with a good potato flavor, not a fried taste. For dessert, I had a panna cotta, which is often disappointing in restaurants, but this one, which I ordered plain even though there was a choice between red berries and salted caramel, was perfect—that is to say, it held its shape well, without being sticky or too dense as is so often the case. The staff was attentive, which is always a pleasure, even though it was busy. And we give a special mention to the young waitress, a brunette with shoulder-length hair, who was simply perfect: smiling, friendly without being overly familiar, and well-mannered without being stuffy. This young woman was a real asset to the restaurant! In short, due to our diet, we won't be able to go often, but we will certainly return, and with great pleasure, because the menu is very tempting!

10/06/2026: I could grumble about having to wait a bit too long on the terrace between drinks and dinner before going inside because of the chilly temperatures... But I don't want to, because the Reblochon galette warmed me up perfectly. It was generously filled and delicious, as was the Tatin crêpe for dessert. Don't expect burgers (as mentioned in previous reviews) because the menu has changed.
