Le bistro sur Paimpont

Passing through Bréhal, we found a fantastic brasserie! Homemade food – what a pleasure to find fresh tomatoes from the market next door in a salad, plenty of Emmental cheese, ham, and just a touch of lettuce (a nice change)!! Well done! So we ordered the floating island dessert, which was once again delicious because it was homemade. There's no comparison between homemade crème anglaise and the store-bought kind. Kudos to the chef and the waitress! 😜😜

The owner gave us a lukewarm welcome, but the waitress Cindy's kindness quickly made us forget that. We ordered the two daily specials. A pleasant surprise: the chef at this crêperie is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We ate there midweek at lunchtime; there were five of us (for context), and four tables were occupied. The waitress was welcoming and smiling. We waited 40 minutes for the first two crepes, and the other three arrived 3-4 minutes later. The problem: only two crepe makers... The crepes themselves were excellent and generously filled. It's a shame the wait was so long for the buckwheat crepes. As a result, we didn't order dessert. The restrooms were a downside; they were clean, but you have to bend over the urinal at an awkward angle to wash your hands... Frankly, not great.
