Since we had to catch the train at 1:22 PM, we decided to leave our luggage and then have lunch; they didn't charge us for storage. We had the set menu, which was €14.90 without drinks. They serve water, have three options, and the portions are generous. We ordered two very substantial salads, and then another assiette gourmands with a base of lettuce and tomato, accompanied by two chicken thighs, a bit of turkey breast, and small portions of croutons, etc.—very complete. For dessert, we had fruit salad, but they also had crème brûlée. The waitress was lovely, and the manager even thanked us for trying to speak French. The place is spacious, with period decor and layout, and it has an outdoor terrace.

The Hotel Terminus is a magnificent and imposing Haussmann-style building located in the lower town of Carcassonne, opposite the train station. The architect Florentin Belin designed it. Inaugurated in 1914, the complex includes a hotel and the restaurant that would later become the "Bistro" of Carcassonne.
The welcome is professional in a friendly atmosphere, whether in the dining room or on the shaded terrace.
The service is prompt and efficient, and they are attentive to ensuring you have a pleasant experience.
The dishes are delicious, such as the escargots, a classic bistro dish.
The price is a bit high, but the setting is well worth it, as we had a wonderful time.
I would definitely go back.

Really good bistrot, very popular with locals. It offers speedy service and a very reasonable set menu with a dish of the day. Very friendly service. It's right near the station so ideal for a meal before departure. The building is very impressive too. The terrasse is on a square and near the canal.
