The Hotel Terminus is a magnificent and imposing Haussmann-style building located in the lower town of Carcassonne, opposite the train station. The architect Florentin Belin designed it. Inaugurated in 1914, the complex includes a hotel and the restaurant that would later become the "Bistro" of Carcassonne.
The welcome is professional in a friendly atmosphere, whether in the dining room or on the shaded terrace.
The service is prompt and efficient, and they are attentive to ensuring you have a pleasant experience.
The dishes are delicious, such as the escargots, a classic bistro dish.
The price is a bit high, but the setting is well worth it, as we had a wonderful time.
I would definitely go back.

Really good bistrot, very popular with locals. It offers speedy service and a very reasonable set menu with a dish of the day. Very friendly service. It's right near the station so ideal for a meal before departure. The building is very impressive too. The terrasse is on a square and near the canal.

Need a quick bite between a train and a bus? Or just need a break? Enjoy this great location allowing a view of the canal or go inside to enjoy the art deco interior. Staff is friendly and the menu has all the local treats you need. Lunch service can be fast if you need it to be.

Clean more in the corners, the toilet doors... for example... No whipped cream on my two scoops of ice cream (set menu priced at €22).
Otherwise, the food was decent for the price.

Might not look like a five star restaurant, but the food was delicious! Plates had big servings, various options or protein and menu had 3 plates (worth it). One person spoke english and was able to serve us well. Would recommend!

We stopped for breakfast since it's very close to the train station.
Located on the ground floor of a spectacular Haussmann-style building.
The architect Florentin Belin was responsible for its design. It opened in 1914 as a hotel and restaurant, which later became Le Bistro de Augustin.
A true institution in lower Carcassonne.
Outside, there's a huge terrace full of tables and umbrellas, but I recommend eating inside. It's like stepping back in time.
A place you shouldn't miss, although the food is just average (nothing fancy). We had some huge, delicious sandwiches, coffee with milk, and orange juice (not fresh).
