Le Bistro de L'Hotel sur Beaune

Was a bit hesitant after seeing the reviews, but we had a great experience. The service was great, with attentive, quick and helpful staff. The atmosphere is light, relaxed and cosy. We had their specialty chicken, and it didn’t disappoint. The dessert was also great. A very rich wine list with plenty of options. Definitely recommend for a quiet, nice dinner!

We were a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews about the service, but our experience was completely different. The service was excellent - attentive, friendly and professional throughout the evening. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but almost everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The truffle dish was the only one we personally didn’t really connect with, but everything else was amazing. We also had an excellent wine that complemented the meal perfectly. Definitely expensive, but in our opinion, a wonderful dining experience and absolutely worth it. We really enjoyed our evening!

A traditional bistro, with truly vintage interiors furnished with classic taste. Professional and courteous waiters, dressed in black trousers and white shirts. Traditional menu with top-quality ingredients. The menu also features the famous Poulet de Bresse, which is sliced ​​and served at your table! Generous and tasty portions. The crêpe Suzette is excellent! Extensive wine list, mostly local. Medium-high prices.

A timeless dinner on the terrace. A very nice and delicious regional menu. A bit pricey…

Diners come here for the Poulet de Bresse - a 120 euro chicken that comes with high expectations. We started with a simple salad that was tasty and fresh topped with a generous amount of cheese. We then shared the chicken along with a side of fries and vegetables. The chicken visually is spectacular and the carving spectacle is fun. The actual taste of the chicken is amazing, a strong taste where each part of the bird is unique. However, the cook on the chicken is over. It is not as tender as the bird should be, especially at this price. The bird is also under salted in my opinion. The jus however doesn’t need to be adjusted. The fries here are very good, the vegetables are mediocre at best. Service here was wonderful and friendly and the setting is beautiful. Come if you’re happy to spend, but don’t expect a life changing experience.

The chicken and the crêpes Suzette were excellent. The service, however, was listless and inattentive, giving the impression that we were a nuisance as guests and not truly welcome. A shame. We didn't really live up to our own expectations.

The aim is to judge by value for money, and the result is disappointing. When you pay an average of €150 per person, you expect much better. A mixed experience. While the setting is pleasant and the service adequate, the food unfortunately doesn't live up to the prices. The dishes lack depth for an establishment of this caliber. You leave with the feeling you paid for the prestige rather than the cuisine. A shame.
