Excellent restaurant behind the market, with carefully prepared, seasonal cuisine and very reasonable prices, including a set menu for €26. And the staff are incredibly friendly! Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect. The meats (we chose braised pork shoulder and sweetbreads) were served with a sauce, and there was good bread for dipping, perfect for those with a sweet tooth. For dessert, we opted for French toast with chocolate chips and caramel sauce. Delicious. The staff was very pleasant. Impeccable service. Highly recommended.

How can I put it? Everything was perfect. We ordered some rather complex dishes, especially in terms of cooking time. I had sweetbreads with candied carrots and a rich jus, while my wife had pollack with split pea purée, exotic fruits, and a cockle jus. The flavor combinations were very well balanced, and the cooking was executed to perfection. All of this was enhanced by a very pleasant, professional, and discreet service, always with a smile. Bravo to everyone! If you're reading this review, don't hesitate any longer; go in, you'll be delighted!

A warm and friendly welcome. The daily menu was perfect, with fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented ingredients. Impeccable service. My only complaint is the price of the wine… 7 euros for a standard rosé… A restaurant I highly recommend.

Good restaurant, friendly setting, and a warm welcome. But the prices are a little above our expectations. For example, the meagre was aptly named, and the side dish was very limited: a small amount of carrot puree and four new carrots. Even the women found the dish a little light. It's a good restaurant, though.

05/01/2026: Passing through La Rochelle for the weekend, we booked a table at this restaurant. The welcome was pleasant and very warm, with thoughtful touches from beginning to end. Our dish was delicious and fresh; we had a wonderful evening and highly recommend it.
02/01/2026: We spent New Year's Eve at Le P'tit Amiral for the second time, and just like the first time, the meal was excellent, the welcome from the owners and staff was top-notch, and the service was impeccable 👍. I highly recommend Le P'tit Amiral, which is anything but small, as the food is excellent and the service flawless. Thank you to the entire team, to whom I give 3 stars. New Year's Eve dinner, so a complete menu including an aperitif. Very reasonable price for a New Year's Eve celebration.
