Nice hotel and amazing quality French cuisine

I stayed there for work. A very nice place.

Simple, efficient and not very expensive... Lunch at the Provins Christmas market.

The actual overall rating would be 3.7. For the service, the rating would be closer to 3.5. Not all the staff are equally competent; some responses leave much to be desired, for example, "I don't know if I'll have time" or "yo." The younger reception staff need to improve their attitude. The restaurant was a disappointment; the value for money of the set menu was poor! Overall, it was bland. The hummus starter was extremely tasty. The fish was boiled, the sweet potato mash was unremarkable, and the grilled leek was dry. The dessert was "industrial pastry": chocolate biscuits that had absorbed moisture, and a ganache that wasn't really ganache. We pointed this out, and they confirmed it wasn't a homemade dessert. We were very disappointed. The continental breakfast was of good quality and very complete. The spa lived up to the overall service; it would be a nice touch to have towels available at the entrance. The hotel's best feature is its two parking lots: a few spaces in front of the hotel and another a little further away with the option to load your vehicle. The room's value for money deserves a 3.5 rating.

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve getaway. The brunch on the 1st was excellent. The private spa was sublime, the room very pleasant and comfortable, and we received a very warm welcome. A huge thank you to Marie, who took such good care of us throughout our stay and ensured our time at the hotel was perfect. A very pleasant stay in a unique and charming setting. The bedding is excellent; we slept very well. The spa is nice, although it was a shame we had to wait outside the door for someone to open it for us. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Everything was perfect. As part of my Smartbox voucher, I got a night's stay, breakfast, dinner, and spa treatment – ​​it was fantastic!

At the very top of the town of Provins, in the citadel—a truly legendary spot in this medieval city—the Aux Vieux Remparts hotel offers a wonderful and relaxing setting. I had the pleasure of discovering this idyllic place thanks to Olivier and Esther Gambier, whom I affectionately call "The Kings of Provins," and to whom I extend my heartfelt thanks.

This is far from the expected 4 stars. The toilet was dirty and covered in limescale, the bed wasn't made for a 2-night stay, and there wasn't even enough room for two people to sit comfortably in the double room. Breakfast was charged at €19 but was advertised as €16 in the room. The television was unreliable. It's horribly expensive for the cramped room offered. The tourist tax was higher than the amount listed on the town hall website. This hotel absolutely does not deserve the 4 stars it received a long time ago, and there hasn't been any further inspection since. I won't be returning, nor will I recommend it.
