Le Bistrot du Dome sur Paris

Still as good. A fish brasserie like we would like more in Paris. Fresh, good and price wise. Nice to have all the wines by the glass 👍 I ate a very nice crab and avocado starter then a delicious sole. Congratulations to the whole team.

We came across this restaurant while wandering around the Montparnasse area in which we were staying. Having tried some other places this seemed a little more convivial and cosy and we had seen others apparently really enjoying themselves the night before so we booked. It was fine, good atmosphere, talkative but helpful staff, (let's say engaging), simple menu on chalkboard, English spoken, which helped as both my Italian wife's and my own schoolboy French was no longer up to the mark, (I kept responding in Italian which appeared to be amusing). The dishes arrived and we weren't disappointed, washed down by a decent wine we ate well and at a more resonable price than expected although it's Paris, so not so cheap either! Charming, quiet, no 'musak' blaring for example, good staff and an enjoyable experience. It would appear the locals eat there too, so that's a bonus!

Okay, seriously, Le Bistrot du Dôme? It's my new happy place. I went there, and OMG, the "encornets" (calamari) stole the show. Tender, juicy, and just a burst of flavors. I also had The Sole, which was so fresh and every bite was delicious. For dessert, the Mille Feuille—it was a sweet indulgence that wrapped up the evening on a perfect note. The ambiance exudes classic Parisian charm, and the attentive service added to the overall enjoyment. Le Bistrot du Dôme is a culinary haven, and I highly recommend savoring the encornets along with exploring the diverse menu for a truly unforgettable dining experience. 🦑🍽️👌🇫🇷
