Le Bistrot Du Grand Cerf sur Lyons-La-Foret

I had a fantastic time at Le Grand Cerf. From the moment I arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. You can really taste the work and expertise of a Michelin-starred chef behind every dish. The food was beautifully presented, piping hot, and everything was meticulously prepared. The service was also very friendly, warm, and attentive. I loved the large window overlooking the kitchen; it allowed me to watch the chefs at work. There were only two of them in the kitchen, and frankly, you could see they were working with great dedication and passion. A truly wonderful experience from beginning to end. I had a fantastic time and I'll gladly return soon.

We had lunch at Bistrot du Grand Cerf, and despite a warm welcome from the maître d'hôtel, the experience was very disappointing. We asked beforehand if it would be possible to be served within 45 minutes due to an appointment, but an hour and fifteen minutes later we were still at the table despite our repeated requests. The service was very slow; the kitchen seemed to be sending out dishes in dribs and drabs. I had the unpleasant surprise of having to eat an avocado that was completely unripe and inedible. I therefore left half of my starter, and no compensation was offered, not even a complimentary coffee. I pointed out the problem with the starter to the head waiter, who informed the kitchen. Since the kitchen is glass-enclosed, I saw the young cook's annoyance at this. Not very professional when the kitchen is visible from the dining room… The chocolate fondant takes 45 minutes to bake, and since lunch lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes, it arrived overcooked, so half of it remained on the plate. Otherwise, the dishes were very good, although the garnishes were a bit sparse. The homemade fries were excellent. The dishes are original, and the concept could be interesting if well executed. This establishment is overseen by the Michelin-starred chef of the other restaurant, which makes the disappointment even greater. There are no menus displayed outside, so many tourists came in, asked to see one, and left just as quickly, undoubtedly put off by the prices. The value for money is very disappointing. For all these reasons, we canceled our evening reservation. On the other hand, I must commend the waiter's kindness and the warm welcome. The restaurant is charming and very clean. These criticisms are intended to be constructive, but as things stand, I do not recommend this establishment.

Visited this weekend and it was definitely worth it! Very satisfied with the food and service. The sea bream was beautifully presented, and kudos to the waiter for managing everything with a smile. I highly recommend it, and I will gladly return.

The welcome was very friendly, and the setting charming. However, the wait was long, especially over 40 minutes before dessert. The food was good, but the quality of the ingredients didn't justify the prices. The same goes for breakfast. Drinks were also very expensive: a 12cl glass of cider cost €10, and coffee with a Speculoos biscuit was €4.50. Overall, there was a discrepancy between the service and the price.

Dinner last night. Nice atmosphere, decent food, all enhanced by an efficient and very friendly waiter (PJ) who left us with a good impression of this establishment. Thank you to him.

Excellent variety of dishes and a wonderful experience for our family. The Indian specialties were authentic and full of flavor. The samosas were crispy and delicious with excellent chutney. The pike-perch dish was also excellent and perfectly prepared. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. We will gladly return.
