A must-try in Le Havre, and certainly one of the best restaurants in the city. Their lamb shank is excellent. However, I find it a shame that the lamb comes from New Zealand. With such a reputation, it would be preferable to prioritize French farms. Aside from that, it's a very good restaurant.

During our wanderings, we had lunch at this brasserie, clearly a local favorite as it was full. Good bistro fare served by attentive staff. Perfect for its category!

A true French bistro. All the proper dishes like Escargot, steak frites etc. very attentive service from lovely staff. If you’re early for your ferry back to the UK then this is the perfect place to spend some time and eat real French food

Thanks to François for his excellent service! This restaurant never compromises on the quality of its food, and the prices are very reasonable. The welcome is always very warm. Having eaten there for lunch during my break, I can say the service is very quick and you can eat at your own pace.

A pleasant restaurant with good, traditional cuisine. A real highlight is the waiter, François: exceptionally kind and attentive. Having a professional and pleasant waiter is important, even essential, in a restaurant!

Birthday meal for my mother today at a Parisian bistro. A table of 12 served by a lovely waiter, François, who was very attentive and caring. Thank you for a wonderful time.

This place was completely full when we stopped by for dinner on Saturday but the manager still found a way to organize a table for us. Locals appear to love it here. Food was fresh and good. Very reasonable price. Highly recommend it!

02/06/2026: We came as a family for Mother's Day on Sunday evening, May 31st. We received VIP treatment; we no longer needed to give our names, as we're now a regular and they know us. We ate very well, as usual: snails, roast beef, escalope, grilled salmon with aioli, and impeccable service from Laurent. A lovely little touch was a rose offered for Mother's Day; even my daughter (22 years old) received a rose, which we appreciated. You really pamper your customers! Thank you to the whole team for your warm welcome and kindness. See you soon!
01/06/2026: I love this restaurant!! The food, the atmosphere, the service... everything is perfect. I've known it since I was a child, back when Paillette beer was still brewed just a stone's throw from the restaurant. Some waiters and bartenders have left, but the service has remained impeccable. The menu has been slightly modified but is still enticing, with dishes that are just as delicious. I did feel a pang of disappointment, though, to see that the bavette steak with shallots was no longer on the menu... The quality is consistently high, and the prices aren't exorbitant. In short, Taverne Paillette remains a Le Havre institution. A must-try, and a place to return to again and again!!
