Le Bocal sur Rennes

A fantastic place that makes celeriac sexy, I highly recommend it. First of all, the food is excellent, the ingredients are high-quality and prepared with care. Furthermore, the restaurant offers a set lunch menu (starter, main course, and dessert) for only €19, and the prices of the other dishes are clearly justified given the quality of what's offered. Finally, the service is exceptionally fast; the waiter and one of the two chefs have a rare level of coordination that allows for efficient service without any waiting—perfect for a lunch break! I highly recommend this place if you're in Rennes or the surrounding area :)

I used to eat at Le Bocal 15 years ago when I was a student, and I went back during the holidays. Nothing has changed; it's still perfect. The wine selection is excellent, the food is smart and affordable, and the service was impeccable!

Small restaurant, small but excellent menu (fish dominant, but with red meat options), excellently prepared (the best duck I've had in years), small but excellent wine list (natural wine dominant but with a few conventional options); really enjoyed it and will definitely eat here again next time I'm back in Rennes.
