We hired Le Bréard for a private event and the food, the atmosphere and the friendlyness of staff was 5* all night long. Thanks again to the whole team - dinner was truly excellent!

Excellent and inventive! The chef knows what he is doing and it is very successful. It's not cheap but it's definitely worth it...and the cost.

Despite a long standing reservation, on arrival we were not offered the chance to eat outside in the courtyard but immediately placed in the inside front room which was empty other than for a couple with a very tired and angry baby. It soon became clear that the maitre d' had decided to put his foreigners inside while the later arriving locals were ushered outside. Annoying, and not the first time this has happened despite my excellent French. An English couple who came after us commented on the same thing so we were not being overly sensitive. Breard's second demerit came when, following the first amuse, the waiter picked up our cutlery with his bare waitery hand and plonked it down next to the empty plate saying we were to use it for the second amuse too. Yucch. The fixed six course menu started disastrously with an amuse of one supermarket-grade sushi and an oddly overcooked and tasteless biscuit. Fortunately after that things improved and the rest was tasty and well presented although the portions (especially the pigeon) exceedingly small. Fortunately there was unlimited and great bread plus the dessert passionfruit souffle was outstanding by anyone's standards. After we called for the bill Breard pushed its luck and brought two complimentary mignardises that were simply stale. Not a great end to a very mixed evening and a real disappointment as we came on the strong recommendation of French friends.
