Excellent meal, beautifully presented. The scallops with risotto were a delight. And the mussels marinière were excellent.

Right next to the 11th-century castle, you'll find this highly recommended restaurant. Whether on the small terrace or in the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant, some offering views of the castle, you'll be spoiled for choice when deciding which of the varied set menus or à la carte dishes to select. We opted for a three-course menu: a fresh and creamy mackerel rillette as a starter, grilled sardines with island potatoes or a tender and succulent fish fillet as main courses, and a creamy crème brûlée or a melt-in-the-mouth chocolate mousse served in a dark chocolate dish. We were absolutely delighted. The service was friendly and the prices reasonable. It's a shame this restaurant is so far from where we live.

We had reserved a table for 7 pm and arrived at 6:56 pm. As a result, we were literally turned away. When we returned at 7:06 pm, there were already eight people at the table. There wasn't a single exchange with the waiter, even when he brought out scalding hot plates without warning. A few minutes later, cutlery and plates fell right next to us, but not a single apology. A robot and its AI would have done better...

The two of us each ordered a main course from the menu and an aperitif.
The bill was very reasonable considering the quality of the food, and we had a very pleasant time.
To their credit, following a minor technical issue with one of the dishes (which didn't detract from the overall quality), the corresponding aperitif was spontaneously offered on the house with the bill.
We hadn't asked for it (you'll understand we weren't looking for a discount), but this kind of honesty is always appreciated these days.
It's this honesty and the quality of the food that earns me a positive rating, as it deserves recognition for those who work hard.

Excellent restaurant! I don't understand the negative reviews!
The staff is very professional and friendly; the waiter and the manager were exceptionally kind.
The food is delicious. The set menu (starter and main course) is €24, or the set menu (starter, main course, and dessert) is €29, and everything is homemade—perfect.
We ordered mussels in curry sauce and a burger, and they were excellent: all the mussels were clean, fully opened, and full of flavor—nothing to complain about. The mackerel rillettes starter was also very good.
We highly recommend Castel to everyone!
